Latest Tile Trends
“Turquoise, red and orange offer all sorts of design possibilities and our customers are enjoying the option of dabbling in accent colours or adventurously creating tiled surfaces full of colour,” Chris Brigg, Tile Division Manager, said.
As far as size is concern, there appears to be no return to smaller tiles anywhere on the radar with larger tile now very much in demand.
“We are stocking many variations of large tiles, the most recent size inclusions in our range are 800x800mm and 900x450mm tiles. They are big, beautiful and very practical,” she said.
Because of the sheer size of these tiles, installation is quick and easy, maintenance is a breeze and they are versatile – oversized tiles present beautifully on floors or as feature walls – inside and out.”
TAU tiles continue to impress.
In extra large sizes of 1200x600mm and 600x600mm they are all about impact – rich and rustic they seem to transcend all decorating styles to create fabulously innovative spaces.

Perfect Tile Finishes
High gloss and matt stone finishes are enjoying equal footing when it comes to customer preferences.
The first, described as ritzy and in keeping with 5-star boutique hotel foyers, the latter though equally luxurious, but understated, natural…earthy.
The popularity of metallic and glass finishes has been steadily rising for the last couple of years to have earned a place in the tile fashion stakes.
Glass tiles have become more practical, with ceramic backing they are easier to install and are proving an outstanding alternative for solid glass kitchen splashbacks or feature bands in showers.

FREE Design Advice – Resort Style
If you are renovating or building, your flooring choices will have a big impact on achieving a 5-star look.
Think of the city hotels you enjoy most with their oversized marble and granite tiles often with patterns or interesting features, or the luxury of coastal resorts which use the warmth and texture of timber that seamlessly merges with carpet and tiled areas.
Stunning laser-cut polished porcelain scenes that may be incorporated into floors or used as a soaring mural in a foyer to give that instant 5-star opulence.
While first impressions are important, it’s really the ‘health spa’ aspect that draws us to holiday resorts - inviting bathrooms where you instantly relax.
The key is to never skimp on the size of your bathroom – even if it is just for two. His and her basins and cabinets are important for enjoying your rejuvenation time.
To create a greater sense of space, tile the floor and walls in the same colour or type of tile.
Ensure that you are comfortable winter and summer by installing floor warming under your tiles, warming towel rails and room heating.
Horizontal tile patterns will help create a sense of height and space. If space is at a premium, perhaps wall hung furniture options are a better choice.
Engage your tactile senses and decorate with coordinated, luxurious manchester items – treat yourself to ultra soft bath sheets and a thick opulent bath mat for your feet to sink into.

‘Outdoor Room’ Tiling
Yesterday’s modest but adequate barbeque area has today evolved into what is commonly known as the “Outdoor Room”.
Often of lavish proportions and of a scale that can incorporate a full working kitchen capable of so much more than just sizzling sausages.
Larger tiles dominate the Outdoor Room, with the minimum ‘large’ tile measuring approximately 300x300mm sizing quickly increases to 400, 500, 600 and 900mm squares.
However, oversized rectangles provide even greater interest – 300x600s and 450x900s while a brick-bond laying pattern adds an extra element to the perception of space and style.
